HEIDI Hi. My name is Heidi. I am an approximately thirteen week old, eleven-pound puppy who was found by the side of the interstate in West Virginia last week. I was in bad shape. I was full of hookworms, round worms, ringworms, you name it! I was also very much in need of a bath and some food and water. I did not have any tags on or a microchip, and I was dumped with another puppy, who was in the same desperate condition I was in. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS, my guardian angel, Andy, saw me as he drove by and he stopped to save my buddy and me. He took us to the vet and the vet gave us all our shots and he spayed me and neutered my buddy. He gave us medicine so now our worms are all gone. The vet told my guardian angel that he thought I was an American Eskimo Dog, so I am writing to see what you all think, and if I am, if your rescue can help me. The problem my guardian angel has, is that he has three dogs already and he lives in a county that has a two dog per household limit. If anybody sees my buddy and me I could get Andy in a lot of trouble. Also, Andy lives right on the road and I am so small that I can get under his picket fence. So it is hard for Andy to let me out to potty, not only because he worries that someone will see five dogs in his yard, but more importantly, because Andy doesn't want me to get under the fence and into the road. Let me tell you about my personality. I am full of happiness, love, and kisses. My tail constantly wags. I am very unaffected by being dropped. I come to my new name, Heidi, and I love to be held and to sit on my human's lap and cuddle. I love to give kisses on my human's ears, neck, and all over their faces. I am soft as cotton, and I am very prissy and prancy. I sleep in a crate at night and I am learning how to be housetrained. I love treats in all shapes and sizes, and I am a good eater of dry dog food (Eukanuba puppy food). I am excellent with other dogs. My foster family has three big dogs, and my fellow abandoned buddy Blackjack is a puppy about10 pounds bigger than me. We all get along great. I especially like to kiss my big Weimaraner brother and to try to play tug of war with him, although he is much bigger than me. He humors me and lets me try. I would be excellent with children, as I am not at all aggressive and am very gentle when I play. I love toys and babies (fluffy stuffed animals for dogs that squeak) and I would make some lucky person the best friend in the world. As you can see from my pictures, I am also very pretty. My foster mommy says I have the most gorgeous white coat she has ever seen. It is very straight and thick and even covers my hind legs and my tail! I have big, dark brown, almond shaped eyes, pretty white eyelashes, and a pink nose. I am staying in Charleston, West Virginia with my guardian angel's family for now, but I really need to find a loving forever home asap. I am an inside dog and I have a fenced in yard. Since I am used to this, I would like to keep the same. I do get up on the couch and on the furniture with my foster family and I eat treats from their hands. I would really like a home where I could continue being treated as an equal member of the family, not ties or left outside where no one could cuddle with me.
